Lombok is like most of the islands in Indonesia’s archipelago it centres around a volcano, Mt Rinjani, all 3,726 metres of it. Lombok is a tourist dream, not yet discovered by the world. White sand beaches are everywhere, often protected by coral reefs thus keeping the waves down to a safe level for the inexperienced.

Many activities abound on Lombok including world class snorkeling and scuba diving, trekking, golfing, surfing the breaks off Kuta or just going out with the fishermen.

The island of Lombok is broadly divided into 5 separate areas: West Lombok, South Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok  and North Lombok. Whilst to Lombok’s north west are their three famous small islands; Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan.  Gilli is the Sasak  word for island, and there are hundreds more scattered around the coastline.
